Through this editorial note, the journal wants to give a brief description about the subject areas that it publishes cutting edge research. Anaerobic biodegradation is a process where microorganisms help in breaking down biodegradable materials/wastes in the absence of oxygen. It is a series of processes which is widely used to treat wastewater sludge.
