Transrectal ultrasound (TRUS)-guided prostate biopsy has emerged as a pivotal diagnostic tool in the assessment of prostate cancer. This abstract provides a concise overview of the procedure, its indications, techniques, and key considerations. TRUS involves the insertion of a specialized ultrasound probe into the rectum to visualize the prostate gland in real-time. This imaging modality enables urologists to identify suspicious areas within the prostate, which may harbor cancerous tissue.
